Using social media to help further your business is one of the most important marketing tools a company can have in their arsenal today. With so many people all over the globe being on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn and more, you’re missing out on a huge slice of the sales pie if you’re neglecting to use social media as a business.

They aren’t getting anything out of their relationship with you and will soon find a channel that will provide them value, losing you both followers and potential sales.

To combat this, Susan Gunelius, contributor to Entrepreneur.com, advises that companies focus less on conversions coming from your social media efforts and more on producing or sharing great content that followers will in turn want to share with their own followers. If you can do this, you will be providing quality and value to your followers.

Show Quality Images

The images you associate with your social media posts are one of the most important parts of your social media strategy because they are the first thing seen. Michael Stelzner of Social Media Examiner reminds us that images are processed more quickly by the brain, which should make them the main focus of your post initially.

Sharing quality stock images that present something interesting and related to your content will hook your readers and followers quickly to what you’ve posted. If you can accomplish this, sometimes words aren’t even necessary to include in a social post, Stelzner adds. However, you must ensure that you’re using quality images that your followers can get behind and share themselves.

Use Hashtags Correctly

In order for your social posts to get more tractions on many social platforms, you have to use hashtags correctly. One of the biggest rules here is to not use too many hashtags. Overloading your posts with hashtags will turn off your followers. Evan Lepage of Hootsuite shares some of the things you should do with regards to hashtags, like being specific, catering to a particular social platform, and using relevant, branded hashtags. He also tells of what not to do with hashtags, like making them too long or using too many. Play around with your social posts in order to find the right balance of hashtags for your particular business.

Social media can be a huge boost to your brand and business. By using the tips mentioned above, you should find that your social media efforts will bring you more success than ever before.
